Sobril is a brief-acting benzodiazepine. It boosts neuronal membrane permeability to Cl ions by binding to stereospecific benzodiazepine receptors within the postsynaptic GABA neuron w/during the CNS (including the limbic procedure, reticular formation) and improving the GABA inhibitory consequences causing hyperpolarisation and stabilisation.
